I loved creating the wonderful texture of this painting using my signature style - pressing flowers and leaves on the canvas. When I completed the background the density and the colours reminded me of my trip to Costa Rica where I saw so many colourful plants and birds. So I decided to paint hummingbirds because I was amazed by their beauty.
My favourite part of painting this was creating the multiple layers of texture. I used roses and roses' leaves to create this dense and colourful texture.
